Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent – A Coating for Masonry:

A Siloxane additive to the Ecologic™ Brand Colorwash Stain and Potassium Silicate Paint to make a coating over masonry, concrete, stucco/plaster have water repellent properties. Additionally, Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent is vapor permeable and reduces/inhibits the absorption of water from wind-driven rain.

When/where to use water repellent coating:

Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent is used mainly as an additive to the final coat of Silicate Dispersion Paints and Stains on Masonry surfaces. This additive adds an additional level of protection against wind-driven rain and other excess surface water. Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent is for any porous masonry such as Brick, Block, Stone, Terracotta, Cast Stone, Concrete, Stucco, Plaster, etc.

Mixing

Mixing (Optional):

This is optional, product can go directly on masonry.

Dilute 1 part Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent to 9 parts Potassium Silicate Paint, or Colorwash Stain for a more water-resistant mineral paint.

Milky white while a liquid, dries clear (test before major usage on experimental applications).

200-300sq. ft. depending on the absorption rate of substrate

Application

Application:

Stir well before using. Do not apply at working temperatures (surface + air) below 40°F or above 110°F. Apply by brush, roller, or airless sprayer after proper surface preparation. Use as the final coat and apply continuously wet-in-wet, especially when using stronger tinted colors. Ideally, Ecologic™ Siloxane Water Repellent should be sprayed.
