Saint-Astier® Lithomex® Customized  Brick and Stone Repair Material:

Saint-Astier® Lithomex® Customized  is a brick and stone repair material for projects that require a highly precise replacement material that closely simulates the color and texture of the existing masonry. By utilizing our custom simulation service you can go beyond our stock colors and create a truly breathtaking finish that closely resembles the existing material.

What is Lithomex®?

Lithomex® is a specially formulated brick, stone, and terra cotta surface repair/ simulation material based on Pure Natural Hydraulic Lime and aggregates. Due to the presence of Natural Hydraulic Lime, Lithomex® is porous allowing the composite repair to breathe. Furthermore, Lithomex® comes in a neutral white or custom colored mortar supplied in 55 lbs (25kg) bags, which you can add mixing water too. Additionally, it is also available in units of 3 lbs or 15 lbs containers for smaller orders.

Environmental Requirements:

Users must follow the Manufacturer’s instructions when storing and handling materials to protect them from damage and moisture. In this regard, it is recommended to take necessary precautionary measures to assure excessive temperature changes do not occur. For instance, do not apply a patching mortar below the minimum ambient temperature of 45 degrees F and above the maximum of 85 degrees F. Furthermore, it is required that these temperatures are maintained for a minimum of 48 hours prior to the application and continue until Lithomex® cures (for curing information please see the tech documents under “Data Sheets”). Likewise, during hot weather protect the repair from uneven and excessive evaporation during dry and hot weather. Finally, it is suggested to provide tarping over the outside of all scaffolding.

• Capable of dressing with similar tools to the original masonry.
• Remain workable long enough to allow details to be fashioned.
• Match in color and texture.
• Repairs are always reversible.

Patching stone is very effective, affordable and can be reversible. The brick and stone repair/patching material must match the color and texture of the existing stone. As a result, the material must adhere well, process moisture, and have similar thermal expansion and weathering characteristics to the hose masonry. Lithomex® will lend itself to a perfect match when a skilled craftsman is applying it. Lithomex® fulfills these requirements in most cases.

Each student must successfully complete the hands-on skills and pass an end-of-class written exam to receive the Level II Saint-Astier® Lithomex® Installer Certification which is valid for 5 years. Prior masonry experience is required.

Custom Simulations are pre-fabricated custom formulated mixes that are developed from customer submitted samples (i.e. brick, stone, mortar, paint samples, or color swatches). Once a customer has received their special code from LimeWorks.us and approved the custom mix they can place their order online for their custom product.
